The ones you had in mind will be just fine. As for your starter question... thats a bit harder to answer. In truth, I had not planned to tell her. Or anybody really. I was caught off guard and it just slipped out. I wasn't looking for the same sentiment in return from her. Hoping? Maybe somewhere deep down. But never truly expecting or even considering that possibility. Loving her was enough for me. Do you know, I never even talked to her before the reaping, so in a way, I think my name being called was lucky. I believe she most likely thinks my confession was a ploy, for the games. Couldn't be farther from the truth, but I dont hold it against her for thinking it. Who wouldn't? But me, I did not believe I would ever be a contender in the games, but merely wanted to die as myself and show the Capitol that I am more than just a piece in their games. I told her that the night before the games. ...She thought me foolish. *small smile*

...Im sorry, I wonder. To actually answer your question... had I been able to convince her somehow, I would have used the opportunity to protect her. Give her the best chance at survival. Even with my own life, if necessary. For as long as my heart beat, as it beat for her, and her alone.

Good question. Im not sure thats the case, but I believe it may be. I told my alliance members that my token protected the three of us from "unknown dangers and creatures" and I believe they believed that. But it could have been a ploy. Marvel for certain was a liar liar pants on fire.

And my sweet Katniss... she may be cold, but she warms my heart still.
